December 2017 Yakima Market Update

For the 7th consecutive month, the average days on market for a residential home in the Yakima area is less than 90 days.  This means start to finish (listing to closed), homes are selling in less than 3 months on average.  This is an interesting statistic considering the number of listings has risen dramatically over this period while the total number of sales has remained fairly constant.

Historically the winter months experience 20%-30% less homes sold in Yakima. However, the past 3 winters have been different.  Each of the past 3 winters have been steady without any noticeable decrease in home sales, followed by an increase in home values each spring.  Hopefully the 2017-2018 winter remains strong for Yakima.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
